Toda Música is a documentary series that dives into the music scene of Northeastern Brazil. A platform for artists and sounds you need to know.

Season 3 · Episode 01

Toda Música is a documentary series built around a simple question: what exists before music?

In Northeastern Brazil, the answer lies in territory, memory, the body, and community.

Each episode follows the rhythm of a jam session—segments that alternate focus and interact like instruments within the same composition. Sensory interludes create soundscapes from recordings captured in the territories portrayed, opening pathways to performances and conversations. Reports and observational mini-documentaries reveal what rarely appears on stage: luthiers who tune instruments before concerts, lighting designers, cultural communities, and social movements that keep traditions alive—or reinvent them.

Toda Música does not document artists. It documents the relationship between territory, body, memory, and community—from which music emerges.

Toda Música began in 2012 as a commitment to the most innovative voices of Pernambuco’s music scene. Masters, collectives, and artists who rarely appeared on screen—but who helped define the sound of an entire generation. The first season (2012–2013) introduced this universe through 16 episodes.

The second season (2015–2016) expanded beyond Pernambuco, bringing artists from Paraíba, Alagoas, and Sergipe together with international musicians who passed through the region.

The third season (2025–2026) resumes and deepens this exploration. Six new episodes, new artists, and the same question that runs through the entire series: Where is music born before it becomes sound?
